Description
This is awesome Riverina Botrytis Semillon 2015 displays classic botrytis characters of citrus peel and apricot backed by caramel and raisiny notes. The grapes were grown in Leeton NSW on a winery site that has proven to have the optimal environment for botrytis rot to flourish over many vintages. Botrytis grows on the outside of the berries and draws moisture from the berry to concentrate the flavours. Semillon grapes were chosen for this wine because of their tight bunches, soft skins and fresh flavours, which enables botrytis to have the best benefit.

The producer of this fantastic Riverina Botrytis Semillon 2015 has a long association with the region and a strong family connection to the area. A traditional, long-established Riverina producer with a strong Italian-based clientele. Production has increased significantly, utilising substantial estate plantings and grapes purchased from other growers in the Riverina and elsewhere.

Comments from Wine Buyer Steve:

This Botrytis Semillon is divine!! Beautiful aromas of apricot dominate the nose followed up by concentrated sweet flavors of marmalade apricot and honey on the palate. All wrapped up and balanced by pineapple acidity. Awesome desert wine that I enjoy with sticky date pudding. My Score 91/100 - WACC Silver Medal.
