This barrel fermented Pemberton ‘The Peak’ Chardonnay 2012 is rich and creamy with great mouth texture and oak integration. There are nutty aromas and the palate shows intense stone fruit combined with oak and subtle minerality. This is a very smart aged and oaked Chardonnay which has spent significant time in bottle to develop its full potential.
The producer of this sensational Pemberton Chardonnay 2012 is a very small boutique winery owned and operated by a well-respected family in the region. The immaculate vineyard, with its striking scenery has become a feature of the magnificent Pemberton Wine Region.
The winery enjoys a unique position in Pemberton, bounded by the pristine Diamond State forest bursting with Karri, Marri, Jarrah, Blackbutt and Banksia trees.  Bountiful spring water, ideal soils and a cool climate ensure exceptional fruit quality. All wines are made using hand-picked fruit specially selected from the best vines. The winery has previously been rated 5 stars by James Halliday in his Wine Companion.
Comments from Our Wine Buyer: I just love a good oaked Chardonnay and we have found a good with in this Pemberton ‘The Peak’ Chardonnay 2012. The wine was barrel fermented in new French oak which has imparted beautiful oak flavours and a creamy texture. There is plenty of stone fruit on the palate with a well-rounded biscuity flavour. This is what a good oaked Chardonnay should be. This is exceptional value at $14.00 per bottle as the winery sells it under brand at $30.00 per bottle. My Score 93/100 Gold Medal.
