Description

The producer of this Western Australian Urban Shiraz 2015 is a small family operation located in the Geographe wine region of Western Australia. The winery is a total family affair with two generations involved in the operation of the vineyard, winery and cellar door. All the fruit used in production is 100% Estate grown and recent accolades have included a Gold Medal for their 2013 vintage Cabernet Merlot (which we also sold) from Wine Showcase Magazine.

The South West region enjoys a classic climate of warm sunny days and cool, crisp evenings due to its close proximity to the Indian Ocean. The Mediterranean climate together with the gravelly loam soils and altitude from the Darling Ranges, provide a cool ripening season producing fruit of excellent quality.

Comments from Our Wine Buyer: Our company prides itself on dealing with small family operated wineries throughout Australia. We find that these small operators put the most love and passion into their wines and the supplier of this Western Australian 'Urban' Shiraz 2015 is no exception. The wine has great fruit body and length and i would say it is medium to full bodied. The fruit intensity is rich with dark berry flavours and heaps of pepper and spice. I am extremely impressed with the Shiraz from the Geographe wine region. It represents sensational value for money at $10.00 per bottle. Score 89/100 WACC Bronze Medal.
